That’s right, Jost and Che are writers of their own show, and they’ve done exemplary work with entertainment comedy fans across the world.
The duo’s chemistry has made them comedy gold in the TV industry. In 2018, Jost and Che hosted the 70th Primetime Emmy Awards. In 2022, the duo bid their goodbye to SNL and announced their headlining tour a few months later. This summer, they will entertain America once more as a pair and give the incredible chemistry that made them iconic.
Humor comes naturally to writer, actor, and stand-up comedian Colin Jost. He has worked with SNL as an on-and-off writer since the late 2000s. In 2017, he was recruited back as the Weekend Update’s head writer and performed sketch comedy alongside Michael Che. Jost’s work with SNL has earned him numerous accolades, including multiple Writers Guild of America Awards for Comedy/Variety Series and several Primetime Emmy nominations for Outstanding Writing for Variety Special. Aside from sketch comedy, Jost is also a stand-up comedian who has performed in Late Night With Jimy Fallon HBP. and TBS. He was also featured in Chicago’s Just for Laughs Festival. Jost has also appeared in several comedy films and TV series, including State Island Summer, How to Be Single, Coming 2 America, Impractical Jokers, and RuPaul’s Drag Race.
Michael Che has also long established himself as one of the top comedy writers in the industry. He co-anchored the Weekend Update with Jost from 2017 to 2022. Aside from SNL, Che has also appeared as a correspondent in The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Like Jost, Che is a stand-up comedian and actor. He was once named one of the 50 Funniest People by Rolling Stone and was listed in Variety’s 10 Comics to Watch. In 2017 and 2018, he received the Writers Guild of America Award for Comedy/Variety Sketch Series. He also received three Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series.
